For those of you guys who are working makeup artists and have the MAC Pro membership...

I am actually a working makeup artist, I do a lot of weddings/(very) small photo shoots and in addition to that I work full-time as a counter manager for Lancome (I know, I'm out of there soon)... and ever since I stopped working for MAC my kit has taken a nose dive and that discount is looking pretty good now.

However... I am not really signed to a contract with any company, I don't have any editorial/press credits (yet) etc... would it be possible to get the membership? I have a business card and a head shot and I could get a letter from work stating I am a makeup artist but would that be enough to get the full 40%?

Any help is appreciated!!

so day one of the makeup show in new york city is done and only you guys will understand my excitement.

i went to mac pro nyc yesterday, which was (of course) incredible. an amazing MA named colleen talked with me pretty much the entire time i was there and showed me around. it's.. words can not describe... i had originally intended to meet a few youtube people there but that fell through -- it's probably a good thing, because i was in no mood to entertain.. i wanted to shop :D

ANYWAY, so right before i checked out i asked if they were able to sell me the 3 new collections yet, and i was told they would start selling it on thursday (5/22).

(fast forward to today) imagine my surprise when i walk up to the mac pro booth at the makeup show today and there are the three beautiful collections! :) :)

i got the 4 nail polishes, sci-fidelity, pink grapefruit, and spaced out (for my mom).. i wanted to get the nail polishes but i don't know what i get for gratis yet. i've been wearing the 4 nail polishes around for like five days now though, because i painted all my nails different colors as i tested them out at work the other day :P

and just so you know.. the boxes are insanely hot neon orange. haha. the packaging is bright and everything, but after looking at all the boxes in our shipment for more than, like, 10 seconds, my eyes started to hurt. :P

so i totally forgot about my ahoy there! was in my purse which i left in my car ugh and since here in so cal its been like sweltering..IT MELTED. Silly silly me for not thinking about that because i didnt even look at it and i started cranking it out and it literally like water spilt all over my entire arm now my initial reaction was to like cry because its like worse than hot wax spilling all over you but i wasnt expecting it and then it was like my fave lipstick ever,and i never wear lipstick so thats saying a lot..
so note for the future

1)dont leave lipsticks in your purse
2)always keep your purse out of the heat
and 3) buy back ups ahead of time. lol

Do you guys know of an orangey-peachy eyeliner, to go with stuff like D'Bohemia? Pro OJ is orange with no peach and too bright. I don't even know if anything like this exists, so thought I'd ask you all. Do I just have to do black? or purple? or brown?

Here are some pictures from our LA trip. Most of these are of the hot rods at California Screamin', so be warned. The "TroubleMakers" car club had - hands down - the most amazing cars i've ever seen. What i wouldn't do for my truck to have a paint job like these....

So, all in all... LA is a nice place to visit, but i wouldn't survive living there. I felt like i was stuck in an episode of Saved By The Bell 90% of the time. Especially when that girl rode by us on her skateboard while talking on her cell phone.

Can someone describe Sweet Lust e/s?

Whilst I was waiting to pay at MAC today I was swatching random shades on my hand, not really taking much notice. But then I saw one that was really pretty & couldn't remember which one it was, lol.
My boyfriend seems to think it was Sweet Lust, but the website description doesn't really match?
It was a pale-ish pink/nude shade with silvery sparkles. I need it :D

Also, can anyone CP me the #211 brush? It's not available in the UK at all, & I think it may be pro-only in the US now? IDK, but I need another badly before it's gone forever!

Whoaaa, so this afternoon I was putting all of my invoice's from MAC online into their "MAC folder".. yes I do this with every invoice I receive from online orders just for whatever reason. Well I decided to gather up all the invoices from JAN 08-MAY 08 and find out what the damage this year is already... On collections alone (N collection - Naughty Nauticals) I've spent $1204.50!! I actually got really angry with myself (even though I know I wont stop buying more), I had no idea I had spent that much.. and that doesn't even include little random orders here and there as well as other non-MAC cosmetics. It seriously got me thinking about how much money I spend on MAC alone every year. It's kind of disgusting, lollll. It doesn't help that the year isn't even half over and there are soooo many more good collections coming out. 

soooo.. out of curiosity, what have you ladies and gents spent this year already on your nasty little habit?

Hi! This is an odds and ends sale.... I really need this stuff gone, I just bought a couple things from the MAC website (free shipping rocks!) so I figured I would try and get rid of some of the things in my collection that I really don't use anymore.

Brassbeat Liquidlast liner: MAC logo no longer present on the outside, is kind of thickened now but in my experience Liquidlast liners get like that and still work fine. I'm scared how much this is going to cost me :( Is there any way I can get samples of these? or can anyone recommend a cheaper product which would give me the same opaque bright colour pay off? I've got one day to sort this out. Arghh!!

I have a love hate relationship with paint pots.
Here's my problem:
I put on the paint pot.. Then I apply the eyeshadow.. Then when I go to put a color in my outer v/crease and blend, the other shadow and the paint pot begin to fade..
Does anyone else have this problem?
I am thinking about just selling them all.
